London, UK: William Heinemann, 1930. 1st Edition 1st Impression. Hardcover. Good/Good. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Low, David. First edition, first printing. 370pp, plus four double spread monochrome plate illustrations, all by David Low. in original red cloth boards, blind rules on front panel, gilt titles on spine, publisher's windmill motif blind stamped on rear panel. 12mo. Boards slight rubbed on corners, a little rubbed and rounded at spine tips. Text block edges a tad toned. Glue residue marks on front free endpaper, else internally neat, clean and tight. In its original dust jacket, also by David Low, a little chipped and nicked at edges, minor shelf wear on verso. Dust jacket now protected in a Brodard-style sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. A dystopian fantasy in which an Oxford don is possessed by a Fascist who overthrows the Government and starts a war against the United States.
