Jonathan Cape, 1944. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1944. Reprint. 318 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth. Moderate tanning to pages with heavier tanning to pastedowns and endpapers. Pencil inscriptions to front pastedown and rear hinge is cracked with exposed netting. Heavier tanning to text block edges and rear endpaper is missing. Boards have minor rubbing and visible bumping to corners. Fair crushing to spine ends.

Synopsis

A popular yet idiosyncratic poet, W. H. DAVIES (1871-1940) first came to notice through his self-published volume, The Soul's Destroyer . He was the author of several works of autobiography including Beggars, A Poet’s Pilgrimage , and the posthumously published account of his marriage, Young Emma .
