About This Item
Edward Churton, 1835-01-01. Hardcover. Acceptable. First edition. Contemporary cloth, Title page repaired. Boards very rubbed. Text is good+, with only minor foxing. Paper label on spine is rubbed, chipped and no longer legible. Ketch was possibly the most infamous executioner in Britain's history. He was finally imprisoned for the brutality of his botched executions and died shortly thereafter in 1686. Read all about it, in this "ascribed" autobiography written with "the aid of an obscure man of letter". With caricatures by Meadows.
