Large 8vo. 152pp. Red cloth, cover letters gilt, near fine condition, upper corners of text block slightly bumped. Reproduced sketch-portrait of Aunt Celey, by Merle Vernrick. Signed by Julia Glass with personal inscription, dated Christmas 1950, reading in part, "may the glory of our southland follow you wherever you may god, and not fall upon you". From Dedication: "I have written this story as a memorial to those plantation days in which the lives of the Negro were so closely interwoven with the lives of "marster an' Mistis". Told using the dialect of our Louisiana plantation Negro as spoken up to and through the period Glass's writing. ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 152 pages; Signed by Author .
