Secaucus, N.J.: Wellfleet Press, 1989. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. 4to. Full black cloth boards, gold lettering to spine. 440 p.p. Copiously illustrated in colour. Foxing to top edge, scuffing to tail edge, one very small spot of wear to spine foot. Dust jacket has sticker ghost to upper front cover in the corner, short tear to head and small perforation to upper rear joint. Long tear to lower rear joint. Long tear at lower corner of rear with creasing. Some light bumping to edges. Audubon's Quadrupeds is the only single-volume edition of John James Audubon's last great work. These superb paintings capture the exquisite detail the breathtaking beauty of the four-footed creatures that populated the North American forests and plains of his time. Audubon's eye for colour and his unique style of depicting wildlife make this a collection to treasure as much as his Birds of America.
