Roycroft Press green suede-bound softcover, 91 pp. Anonymous 12th or 13th century French romantic tale combining poetry and prose, the story of star-crossed lovers who have to go through many adventures and misunderstandings to be together. Issued by the publishing arm of the Roycroft community, an early 20th century Arts & Crafts community in New York state. Influenced by William Morris (politically and artistically) and the Kelmscott Press, community founder Elbert Hubbard created the Roycroft Press to publish pamphlets and books (the latter often in suede covers). Book Condition :Good-; no text markings; front hinge cracking; some light age toning especially to the free end papers; light discoloration to a few pages opposite illumination; edge wear/rubbing to suede cover edges..
