About This Item
1956. Soft cover. Very Good/No Jacket. This is Chapter 4 (pages 71 to 140) of a larger work called "Tactics of the Soviet Army. It has a paper cover, is staple bound, and has three punched holes so that it can be inserted in a binder. It is in very good condition with slightly darkened paper and a little wear to the edges of the paper covers. It has a "Restricted" notice at the top of the cover page. Synopsis: "This chapter deals with the part played by Soviet rifle, mechanised and tank regiments and their supporting arms in the various stages of a divisional or larger scale deliberate attack. It is based on what is believed to have been current Soviet doctrine up to 1953. There have been changes since then, some of which are mentioned in the text. The chapter ends with a series of appendices on Soviet formations, combat order, anti-tank tactics, etc. An unusual Cold War document.
