Blue cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine and front board. 327 pp 8vo. With the end of WWII, the general public was anxious to learn more about the atom and nuclear energy. The purpose of this books was to present the whole story of atomic energy in a readable and understandable style. The first half of the book is a history of the events that led up to the Curies' discovery of radioactivity. The second half is a progress report on how isotopes are being used today to make a better and more helpful world. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
