About This Item
1947. VILLALOBOS-DOMINGUEZ, C. and Julio VILLALOBOS. Atlas de los Colores. (Colour Atlas). With 7,279 illustrations on 38 colour plates. Oblong 4to., bound in publisher's cloth. Buenos Aires: El Ateneo, 1947. This is one of the most extensive colour atlases. This massive and elaborate work was an attempt to create a complete colour order system to satisfy most or all practical needs. The 7,279 colour samples each have an off-center hole of 4mm in diameter to aid in visually comparing them to other colour materials. A scarce book, published in a numbered and stamped-signed edition. A light waterstain to the right hand margin of the preliminary text plates affecting the margin of the first colour plate, otherwise very good.
