Atget produced seven albums of photographs of Paris between 1909 - 1915, but they were never published. They are here published for the first time and Nesbit explains, analyzes and provides new context to this pioneer in photogarphy as an art form. Original cloth publisher's rose cloth covers with black spine lettering. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates.The dust jacket color has faded to the spine and a portion of the front and rear adjacent to the spine, however the spine lettering is still sharp and there are no chips or tears to the jacket. Contains an index, notes, appendicies and a select bibliography in the rear.; B&W Photographs; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 428 pages .
