The volume sports normal wear from life on a shelf and foxing throughout. The binding is tight; Miss Mott is a spinster schoolteacher who, despite her lack of romantic interests, manages to have a fulfilling life. She is content with her job, her friends, and her life in general until she meets Mr. Jenkins, a new student in her class. He is strikingly handsome, and Miss Mott soon becomes drawn to him. She begins to feel like she is missing out on something important in her life if she isn't interested in Mr. Jenkins, and she decides to take a chance and pursue a relationship with him. However, Miss Mott soon learns that Mr. Jenkins is a dishonest man who is only after her money. She is heartbroken when she realizes that she has been duped, but she continues to live a happy life without Mr. Jenkins.; 8vo; 314 pages .
