Clean pages with noticeable tanning and foxing throughout, heavy in places. Tightly bound with faint thumb-marking throughout. Previous owner's inscription to pastedowns and front endpaper. Boards have light edgewear with corner crushing and notable marking to boards. Moderate tanning to board edges and spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Large water stains to front board.

Rear cover has burn marks and the bottom of the text block has similar browning. The inside pages are fine and not burnt or browned other than the bottom margin of the last few pages and the rear EPs. The pages are clean, have no foxing, no loss, no owner marks or writing on any pages, tight binding. Other than the browning rear cover and bottom of the text block the book is in excellent condition. The book does not have a smoky smell except when one's nose is pressed against the bottom of the text block (even then the scent is very slight). Flipping the pages creates no odor. This book suffered the damage while packed in a box that was super-heated on the bottom.
