Remains a nice, bright and sharp copy. "Arthur Wesley Dow (1857-1922) was a leader of the American arts and crafts movement. A prolific artist in a variety of mediums - painting, photography, and printmaking - he influenced generations of artists. In his writings and in the many subjects he taught at Pratt Institute, Columbia University Teachers College, and at his own Ipswich Summer School of Art, Dow stressed the arts and crafts aesthetic of beautifully rendered, well-crafted works that balance decorative design with functionality. Such practitioners as the designers of Overbeck Pottery, Walrath Pottery, Byrdcliffe Colony Furniture, and the photographers Alfred Stieglitz and Augustus Thibaudeau came under his sway."--WorldCat.
