About This Item
London: Heinemann, 1913. Limited edition. Hardcover. Fine. Rackham, Arthur. With an introduction by Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch, 44 mounted and tissue guarded color plates with letter-press captions and additional line drawings throughout the text. Full oxblood morocco binding by Bayntun (Riviere) Bath England with marbled endpapers, #468 of 1300 signed by Rackham. As part of the custom binding process all page edges were trimmed and gilded so this volume is slightly smaller than the publisher's bound edition. Light foxing to frontis tissue guard not affecting the plate or title page. The gilt doublures have darkened the margins of the front free endpaper, the tips are lightly worn with a short, unobtrusive tear to top of spine, rubbing to edges, but still a nice bright copy.
