About This Item
London: George Bell & Sons, 1888. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Second Edition. 4to. pp. viii. 69 + 1publisher's adverts; 20 tissue-guarded mounted colour plates, 4 of which contain two pictures. Most plates after Delamotte, but also after J. Varley, S. Prout, P. Dewint, T. Girtin and E. W. Cooke. Plus 24 wood engravings in the text and a full page coloured table of tints. Original green cloth binding with gilt lettering, very good with a little general wear and rubbing, cloth lightly marked. Contents clean and tight, - this copy has been expertly and inconspicuously recased so all pages are firmly bound in. (the orginal gutta percha binding tends to fail so the contents of most copies are loose) A couple of tissue guards missing, no inscriptions. A very good tight copy..
