Book which arose from a course of lectures in musical appreciation, with the emphasis on understanding the aims and purposes of the composer, rather than the technicalities of its production. 327pp with index, illustrated with musical examples. Gilt lettering and design to top board and spine. Top edges gilt. Slight bumping to spine and corners and minor foxing to fore-edges, otherwise good copy. Prize certificate dated 1910 to pastedown.
