Toronto, ON: Cerebrus Publishing Company, 1977. Hardcover. Limited Edition. 300pp. Large Folio. Limited Edition #244 of 300, signed by both Paul Duval and Glen Loates. Hand bound in full tan calf with raised bands on spine and gilt lettering and decorations on front and spine. Marbled endpapers, top and bottom edges are gilded and leading edge is brown speckled. Enclosed in cream linen slipcase. Contains 164 colour plates and 63 B/W plates plus an additional colour original lithograph, entitled "BISON, 1976," signed and numbered by the artist with matching limitation number. This is contained within a separate white linen portfolio with gilt titles on front and with fold over titles flaps and matching marbled endpapers. Fine condition. Biography of work and life of Nature artist Glen Loates. Each volume required a total of 16 days to bind by hand. Special hand-mixed Hostmann-Steinberg high pigmented inks were used in order to retain the clarity and character of the original paintings. The original color lithograph was reproduced on American Etching, a 100% rag content sheet - there were no Artist Proofs taken and all copper plates were destroyed. Paper used was manufactured specifically for this volume, using a 100% rag content acid free sheet, ensuring long life with none of the visible effects of aging. Upon completion of this Limited Edition, all working and supportive materials, copper plates and trial provings were destroyed. **Large, heavy volume - extra shipping costs will be required. 1977
