About This Item

London: Walker Books, 1988. First Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The interior of the book is clean and tight. There is a former owner's name on the front free end paper, and the paper has darkened, but these are the only flaws. The blue covers are fresh, with just a bit of wear visible at tips and corners. The dust jacket is not price-clipped, and is in excellent condition -- no rips, tears, or other damage. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. Synopsis: "The year is 1941. ..Young Private Rick Weston has only been in the army a few months when he receives a summons to the War Office in London. There he learns of the top secret work of the SOE (Special Operations Executive) ... News has reached London of the existence of an anti-Fascist group in Sant'Arpino, central Italy, an area well known to Rick from the many pre-war holidays he spent there with his father. This knowledge, along with his fluent Italian, makes Rick the ideal man for SOE's Aripino Assignment.
