A very good- copy with slight wear to extremities (chiefly to head and foot of spine, edges); slight rubbing to covers; slight internal uniform browning (chiefly to edges). [8], 358, [1] pages. Text in French. Later issue of the notable biographical study; '8e Edition' (upper wrapper), dated 1923 on title page recto and verso; with imprint date of May 22, 1923 on colophon. Bound in half dark blue morocco over blue/gray marbled boards, gilt-stamped spine with raised bands, light brown marbled endpapers, top edges stained brown, remaining edges trimmed. With original printed yellow wrappers bound in.
