New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1921. First trade edition. Hardcover. Good. Paul Bransom. SIGNED. 485pp. Quarto [28 cm] Black cloth over boards with gilt stamped titles on the spine and front cover, and a gilt and orange ink stamped monkey vignette on the front cover. Illustrated endsheets. Twenty-four charming tipped-in illustrations (all present). Ex-library, with a single library plate on the front pastedown. Hinges weak. Frontispiece tissue guard torn, with loss to the bottom edge. All the tipped-in plates are present. Shipments outside of the United States may require extra postage due to weight. With Twenty-four Illustrations in Color by Paul Bransom. Paul Bransom worked as an illustrator for the New Dodd-Mead Encyclopedia and The New York Evening Journal. However, it was The Saturday Evening Post's purchase of four paintings for their cover which launched his career as a wildlife illustrator.
