Book has a rear lower bumped corner and a bump to lower front. There also is some soiling(red) to the front and rear boards. Internals very clean. Unclipped jacket has a "scrunch" with accompanying "waves" to the lower rear with a crease extending to the flap fold. (please see images).

binding generally clean, straight & tight. Internals are clean, though pages have darkened which is common enough with many of these UK titles due to the paper stock selected. Unclipped wrapper has rubbing/dust dulling but no tears, chips or creases.

Wrap-around blue and white endpapers show a headless man walking past farm animals on his way to the fair to look for his head there. Pages are bright. Now protected in a mylar wrap. A fantasy illustrated by Robert McCloskey, author and illustrator of "Make Way For Ducklings". Summary: "A man wakes up to find that he has no head, so he goes looking for it." Hard title to find.

black cloth binding. First Printing. boards have light edgewear, corners curved in slightly. Unclipped wrapper has a 15 mm open tear on the front at the top, minor soiling. Overall, a very tidy copy of Russell's first novel.

WINNER OF THE PEGASUS PRIZE FOR LITERATURE AND THE BOOKER PRIZE. Used. Very Good/Very Good unclipped original $17.95 dust jacket. Summary: "The Bone People, first published in 1984 by Spiral, New Zealand. About this book: The Bone People is an unusual story of love. Silver titles on spine, Book for Libraries emblem blind-stamped lower right front board. Front pastedown has ghost of a bookseller's sticker; rear pastedown shows what appears to be an Army/Navy surplus stamp in red. A few tiny dark marks near the blind stamp and some soiling to top rear board. Minor blemishes withstanding, this is a very nice, collectible copy.Inv. # 32586 bds 2022
