Book. Good. Hardcover. (1936), 316pp. Extremities lightly worn, else G. Jean Baptiste Lamy was born in France in 1814. He volunteered to emigrate to the US, settling in Ohio for about eleven years. He was appointed as Vicar Apostolic to Santa Fe, in 1851, which at that time, included all of present day New Mexico and Arizona, and a large area lying in Colorado, Utah and Nevada. Archbishop Lamy was the historic figure Willa Cather used for her novel, DEATH COMES FOR THE ARCHBISHOP..
