Stamped at lower edge of front wrapper and p. 31: "Department of Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology, Bryn Mawr College." The first report by the British School of Archaeology at Athens after the liberation of Athens and return to the school's location, which had not been bombed. Unfortunately, "the Villa Ariadne had been looted of practically every movable object and, apart from the fact that the Germans had installed electric light, was in a poor state." The majority of the report covers new finds during the period of the war. It does not cover damage done to monuments and museums during the war. In Very Good- Condition: wrapper is scraped along spine; ex-library; pages are clean and solid.
