Dating from the end of the Soviet era (1991), this scarce item is a fascinating map/guide/document of Moscow's famed Arbat, a pedestrian street in the historical center that has existed since the 15th century. Because of the many historic buildings, and due to the numerous artists who have lived and worked in the street, the Arbat continues to serve as an important tourist attraction. CONTENTS: official street map, illustrated pictorial map, essay (in Russian), essay (appreviated, in English), 13 photos. CONDITION: a bright, unmarked copy with light shelf-wear - now in a clear, protective polypropylene bag with archivalbacking board.
