Norwalk, CT: Easton Press. Near Fine. 1981. Hardcover. Burton's translation was first published in 1885, and this edition contains Notes by Lane, Payne, Torres and Burton in the rear, after the 674 pages of Tales. This beautiful edition features a full black leather binding with four raised spine bands and five decorated compartments. The cover and spine decorations are in 22 kt gold and all edges are gilt. Printed on archival acid-free paper with smyth sewing. The end papers are black silk moire, and there is also a yellow silk ribbon bookmark. There are no owner bookplates or owner names in the book, nor are there any other markings. It is doubtful if it was ever read. It would make a wonderful addition to any library, and can also be presented to a special person as a gift. This is a heavy book weighing nearly five pounds. ; 100 Greatest Books Ever Written Series; Color Illustrations; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 674 + pages .
