Beautifully illustrated with engraved frontispiece, half-title page and half-page chapter head portraits and scenes etc.. Good. Contemporaneous full calf with six raised bands to spine. Covers slightly rubbed, chipped to head and tail of spine and calf cracking somewhat to joints; binding very sturdy however and tightly strung. Some damp staining to leaves preceding title page. Armorial bookplate of 'John Hunter' of 'The Hermitage' to front pastedown. Foxed to outermost leaves. xxii and 738pp.
