"Fr. Antonio Xaramillo served in the Marianas from 1676 until June 1680, and was then curator of the Mariana Mission in Manila" (Levesque, p. 303). A member of the Society of Jesus, Xaramillo also served as Procurator General for the Province of the Philippines. Daniel Papebroch, S.J., was a Flemish Jesuit hagiographer, one of the Bollandists, and a leading revisionist figure, bringing historical criticism on traditions regarding Catholic Church saints.
