Inscribed by author with two half page black ink drawings of an Indian hogan and an Indian on horseback dated 2 February 1948. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Near Fine; light rubbing to board bottoms. DJ: Good+; NOT Price clipped; suntanned spine; closed tears and chipping at head and tail; closed tear on front; worn tips on all corners. Tan cloth boards with maroon lettering and pictures on spine and front board. 216 pp 4to. Illustrated with more than 100 original drawings by the author. The author lived on the Apache Reservation as a cowpuncher and developed an intimate knowledge of an deep affection for the Apache and his country. The author has put this feeling into the test of this book and into the many unusual illustrations. He has sought "to make the Apache Land sing" and he has done it magnificently. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
