London: R. Norton, for R. Royston, 1676. Religious history & lives of the Saints, still well-regarded for Cave's inclusion of legendary material not readily found elsewhere. Recently rebound in full 'oatmeal' linen cloth, paper spine labels. Pages tanned with some wear, chips, soiling, old mends, small worm holes; first page (the back of the frontispiece engraving) has a plethora of owner's inscriptions, mostly illegible; there are a few others within, but no markings noted within the text; page LIX/LX torn, no loss; page 1/2 missing a small triangular chunk, minor loss of marginal text. Engraved frontispiece, [8], LXVIII, [8], double-page engraving (tear to center crease, light foxing), xvii, [1], 234 pages, engravings heading each saint's life.. First Separate Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 8¼" by 12¼".
