About This Item
Divided-back antique postcards, c.1908-1914, lot of three. Queer interest with clandestine messages and possibly a journalism mystery?
Left: A pair of women embracing near a piano in a parlor. To Miss Alma Elsing, Wisconsin. With green one-cent George Washington stamp. "Dear Alma, We're going to practice our song tonight (Sat.) Will you please tell the boys & Alex and Garth? All try and come? Even if isn't so early. The girls went to Spring Green and won't be home very early. With love, Esther. "
Middle: Pair of dancing ladies in ballet flats. With one red eight-cent airmail stamp and three one-cent green Thomas Jefferson stamps. "Hope your hike turns out to be all you meant it to be. Frasien(?) is dead but another feo(?) is on the way to California. Keep the articles coming. -G"
Right: With a ten-cent air mail stamp that reads, "Employ Epileptics." Addressed to Sara McCutcheon, Santa Fe. "Sarah Darling, Johnny wants to bring a friend (male) when he meets me in September. Will there be enough room? Call me before you leave in August. -G"
