In addition to the annual report of the Institution, this volume includes lengthy papers describing and illustrating collections in the U. S. National Museum. They include: A guide to the Study of the Collections in the Section of Applied Geology -- The Non-metallic Minerals by George P. Merrill; A Primitive Frame for Weaving Narrow Fabrics by Otis Tufton Mason; An Early West Virginia Pottery by Walter Hough; Pointed Bark Canoes of the Kutenai and Amur by Otis T. Mason; Descriptive Catalog of the Objects of Jewish Ceremonial Deposited in the U. S. National Museum by Hadji Ephraim Benguiat. Each article is illustrated with charts, maps, and photographic plates. Only indication of ex-library status is bookplate from the Sturgis Library in Barnstable, Massachusetts from 1901 and title page stamp. Near fine..
