Charleston: Walker and James, 1853. First Edition. Leather bound. Fair. Octavo. viii, 744 pages, [1]. Illustrated with folding map frontispiece and plan of action at King's Mountain (page 238). Brown sheepskin leather binding with red leather title label on the spine. Leather is dry, rubbed on the joints, and cracked on the spine. Front board is detached. Leather is partly split at the top edge. Light to moderate toning and scattered foxing to the contents. Several edge creases, a small pin hole, and a small edge tear to the map. This copy has a faint inscription and signature by the author on the right front flyleaf. Fair only. First edition.
