Norwalk 1847 first edition James Mallory. Hardcover. Small octavo, 320pp., large foldout map of Norwalk as frontis, eight foldout panoramic views of Norwalk and some of her famous buildings and places including Norwalk Hotel, L. M. Stevens Residence, Children's Retreat and Storrs Hall, original blue cloth boards with gilt spine lettering. 5 pages of handwritten notes about Norwalk laid in; two newspaper articles about Norwalk laid in; numerous slips of paper bound in with genealogical information in mss; one page of additional information on the Keeler family in mss bound in; one foldout printed genealogical chart of William Benedict family. Small owner signature on title page (possibly the annotator). Good, cover and corners worn, spine faded to brown, spine ends frayed. Binding secure. Scarce and even more important with the extra plates and added handwritten genealogical information. Howes 4398 (Howes calls for 3 maps and 4 plates.) .
