About This Item

This First Edition First Printing copy of "Amy's Goose", by Efner Tudor Holmes and illustrated by Tasha Tudor, was published in 1977 by the Thomas Y. Crowell Company of New York. The book is signed by Tasha Tudor. This children's book, which measures approximately 8 inches wide by 7 ¼ inches tall, contains 32 pages of text and beautiful watercolor illustrations devoted to the story of Amy, who nurses a wild goose back to health and struggles to decide whether to keep it on the farm or let it be free. The book is hardbound with illustrations on both the front and back covers. The cover is enclosed in a dust jacket which has the same illustrations on its front and rear faces. The book has a sticker on the inside front cover indicating the book store from which the book wast first purchased. Other than that, the book is in like new condition. The dust jacket has a "ding" partway down the fold of the rear flap, but otherwise would also be in like new condition.

The following statement, copied from the dust jacket flap, provides a concise summary of the book. It reads "...This moving story will strike a responsive chord in all young readers who have ever longed to befriend and tame a wild creature for a pet. They will empathize with Amy as she struggles with the difficult decision of whether to keep "her" goose or let it go free – and they will exult with the great wild bird as Amy makes the right choice...".

The illustrations accompanying this description show the Front Cover, the Frontispiece with Tasha Tudor's signature, the Title page, and two typical 2-page spreads of text and illustrations.

About Pages For Sages

Pages For Sages has been in the business of buying and selling rare and used books, ephemera, and other unusual items for over forty years. We have long depended on book fairs, printed catalogs, auctions, and the like to support the business. Now, in our later years (ages 90 and 92) we are taking this step to display a catalog of inventory on the Biblio web site for your consideration. The number of our listings will grow as we continue the process of adding items from our inventory - please come back from time to time to find additional offerings.
