First ed., first printing; 631 p., clean unmarked except for name of former owner & pencilled notations on front end page; paper strong but some foxing; occasional faint stains at edges of margins--not uniform--if from moisture, then from random splatter; binding firm; ochre leather boards scuffed and bumped and gilt lettering on brown patch between raised edges us still clear except for somewhat rubbed letter "M." Just above that patch on edge of spine is small area where leather is missing--less than the size of a penny.
