A selection of traditional tales and stories borrowed from Indian tribes from the Pacific Northwest to the Desert Southwest, the Great Plains and the Southeast U.S. Many of these tales were retold by Henry R. Schoolcraft, George Bird Grinnell, and other folklorists. These tales are offered in a deluxe Heritage Press reprint edition, selected, edited and introduced by Allan A. Macfarlan, with illustrations in color and black & white by Everett Gee Jackson. Sandglass leaflet laid in (New York, no XII: 34). --- In patterned olive paper-covered boards backed in yellow cloth, with spine titling in green; yellow topstain. Text printed on high-quality papers. Volume housed in gold paper-covered slipcase. --- A clean, bright, tightly-bound copy lacking obvious damages. Slipcase with a little sunning near opening & faint soiling; is otherwise undamaged and structurally sound.
