Los Angeles: Jack Rittenhouse, 1948. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/Poor. Hardcover in dust jacket. First editon, #855 of 1000 numbered copies published by the author in 1948. The book has become the standard reference work on this subject "being a collection of two hundred and eighteen pictures showing one hundred and eighty-three American vehicles (and parts thereof) all reproduced from fashion plates of the builders or from little-known original photographs." Book is in fine condition in gray boards with black lettering on spine. Dust jacket is in tatters, held tougher by its Mylar jacket, though front and back panels and both flaps are present. The front flap shows the original price of $7.50. 4to. 103 pp.
