About This Item
Published by Faber & Faber, London; 1976. 8vo. 202pp. First edition, first impression. Condition; Fine/Fine
Bound in original tan cloth boards with title in gilt to the spine. The binding is square and tight and free from marks or damage. Inside, the pages are clean and bright with just a little toning and speckling to the edges.
This smart book is housed in its original first issue dust jacket, which is also in very smart condition. It is vibrant and bright, with just some fading to the spine ad bumping to the edges.
In all, this is a lovely example of Simon Winchester's second book. It details his travels in American Heartland. He spent Spring 1975 travelling the length of the Interstate Highway 35 from Minnesota to Texas. He came away with a love for the American Heartland and its people, their faith and their strength.
