A magnificent book illustrating American folk art with descriptive text, from the time before the camera when various arts were practiced in the home--painting and silhouette cutting, canvas paintings, gravestone carvings--as well as furniture and hitching posts, and carvings, etc; In Victorian times with collectibles, calligraphy, reverse paintings on glass, etc; Outside the home were weathervanes, and whirligigs--and the list goes on--wonderfully illustrated within.
