This copy is from the publisher's surplus inventory which we acquired along with the magazine's archives -- now housed at the John Hay Library, Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island. Charles M. Russell Special Number. Vol. XII #3, Nov. 1961. Features a portfolio of 14 full page Charles M. Russell paintings and drawings, of which 9 appear here in print for the first time. Frederic G. Renner and Jeff C. Dykes contribute several articles including "Russell Rarities" and "Charles Marion Russell, The Man and His Work." There is also a supplement which adds several hundred items to Karl Yost's 1948 Russell bibliography. Charles Heartman's American Book Collector lasted 36 issues before publication ceased in 1935.
