About This Item
New York: Simon and Schuster, 1978. First Edition, First Printing. Signed and inscribed by John Wayne on the front flyleaf: “Good Luck Margaret, John Wayne, 1978”. Fine in a very good price-clipped dust jacket with some foxing to the blank interior side. Included in this book, which is a companion to the album "America Why I Love Her," is the music and commentary on each track by John Wayne. Wayne's commentary reflects thoughtful, intelligent consideration. In the book, he speaks directly to “the good things about America.” As he says: “For a number of years I have tried to express a deep and profound love for these things; to be able to say what I feel in my heart.” With full-color photographs and text, as well as words and music from John Wayne’s best-selling record album arranged for piano and guitar. America why I love her is a celebration of the varied aspects of American life.
