New York: Funk & Wagnalls, 1968. Hardcover. VG- (Ex-library with stamps and labels on spine, inside front and rear covers, ffep and block. Light shelfwear to boards and block. Pages are otherwise clean and clear.). Two volumes bound in tan cloth, red title block with gilt lettering on spine. Volume 1 is xix, 473 pp. Volume 2 has a bw illustrated frontispiece; 452 pp of bw illustrations. Two volume set. Volume 1 is divided in two parts: Non-Alphabetic Systems of Writing and Alphabetic Scripts. Volume 1 also includes an index to both volumes. Volume 2 is 452 pp of illustrations numbered to correspond exactly with the chapter headings in the text volume, and the illustrations are numbered serially within sections.
