Original brown buckram lettered in gilt, top-edge gilt, other edges uncut, deckled, and original brown paper dust jacket. Jacket has some minor chipping, otherwise a near fine copy. Publisher’s postcard inserted at front. § First edition, one of 750 copies. A novella by Katherine Mansfield, the longer version of the short story “Prelude,” edited and published posthumously by husband John Middleton Murry, whom Virginia Woolf criticized for publishing so much of Mansfield’s “inferior” work.
