London: Blackie & Son, 1904. 1st edition. b&w plates and a map. pp. 384, ads.,8vo,,Green cloth bds., bevelled, blocked black, orange, yellow-brown,All plates and the map present, and placed as called for in List of Illustrations. The bds. show wear (esp. to edges), although coloured design and gilt lettering to front board still quite bright. Rear bd. spotted. Old public library bookplate to front pastedown. Remains of small circular sticker to lower centre of spine. More recent bookseller's ticket to rear pastedown. Occasional marginal smudging, or soiling, esp. to title page. Binding sl. sprung, with some uneveness to gatherings. Hinges and joints tight, however. Overall, still a nice copy in good condition. Illustrations by Wal Paget. Thirty-two pages of ads at end. Newbolt 108.1.
