Dark blue cloth boards stamped in black and gold with illustrated endpapers. Original pen/ink drawing by Arthur Rackham on half-title page of a lion sitting on a rock over water on half-title page (measures approximately 5"x5"). The drawing is signed by Arthur Rackham and dated December 6, 1916. Book is very good with sharp corners and spine straight. Binding tight and pages crisp. 12 full-page color plates present as well as numerous black & white sketches throughout. Has some light offsetting to endpapers and a few small pencil notations from previous bookseller mentioning the edition and signed artwork. Can be easily erased if desired. Boards have some very light shelf wear. An scarce copy of this beloved Rackham story collection featuring a truly unique original artwork by Rackham and dated in the year of publication.
