New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1926. first edition. Hardcover. Very good. 6 x 8 in. 267 pp. Dark green cloth boards with gilt spine titles, blindstamped titles on cover. First edition with 1926 date on title pg and copyright pg, which has the colophon. No battering of type. Condition is VERY GOOD ; front has a couple of tiny faint spots, spine titles are good but not bright. Mild wear to corners and spine ends. Front hinge is pulled at the lower thread inside, at the half title pg, but holding well in the rest of the text. Ffep has an old price in pencil and the name Lea on tiny punched holes. Text is very clean and unmarked. Fiction. RGR.

It contains nine stories: "The Rich Boy" "Winter Dreams" "The Baby Party" "Absolution" "Rags Martin-Jones and the Pr-nce of W-les" "The Adjuster" "Hot and Cold Blood" ""The Sensible Thing"" "Gretchen's Forty Winks" As with his other collections, its release was timed to follow the completion of his most recent novel, which was The Great Gatsby.
