Nice condition vintage copy of "Alice's Adventures Under Ground" by LEWIS CARROLL. Circa 1960's (there is no date of publication stated, but the year 1960 is written at the front); Panda Prints Inc.; New York. The book is a facsimile of the original first edition with handwriting and illustrations by Carroll. The title page, dedication page, and chapter headers are in color. From the publisher's title page: "The original manuscript of 'Alice's Adventures Underground,' upon which 'Alice in Wonderland' was based, was written and illustrated by Lewis Carroll at the request of Alice Liddell, a friend's daughter. The story was told to Alice and her two sisters by Carroll in 1862, during a boating trip on the Thames River. At present the original manuscript is in the British Museum."

Condition:
Clean covers. There is some light wear to the paper along the edges of the spine. Sharp cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Nice interior - the pages are clean and appear unread with only a bit of light foxing along the inner edge of the illustrated title page. The front end paper has an inscription dated 1960 written in pen. Overall the book is in Very Good+ condition.

Synopsis

Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There , tell the story of a young girl in a fantasy world filled with peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures. The classic tale of literary nonsense takes the reader on an exploration of logic and absurdities. The Alice books — sometimes combined or referred to with the abbreviated title Alice in Wonderland — have been translated into at least 97 languages with over a hundred different editions. The books have also been adapted numerous times into films (both live-action and cartoon), plays, and musicals.
