A facsimile of the original 1864 manuscript, which was illustrated by Carroll himself, predating what would be later published as "Alice in Wonderland." Brief introduction describes the history of "the Alice manuscript" & how the writer, Luther H. Evans of Columbia University, formerly the Librarian of Congress, assisted in getting the original back to the British Museum. This handsome slipcased edition was produced by University Microfilms/Xerox, in 1964; this is a First Edition, first printing (First, thus), in 91 pages with Carroll's drawings throughout. Blue textured cloth-covered boards have a green leaf motif to front center, lettering to spine.Condition is Fine (our highest grade): just about as flawless as when first issued! Completely clean, binding tight, hinges secure, vellum-like pages creamy white. NO writing/underlining/highlighting; not ex-lib.
