New York: Simon & Schuster, 1950. First Edition. Signed presentation copy, inscribed by the author: “To W.P. Fuller III with my best wishes. Alexander de Seversky, 10/24/50.” Illustrated. Very good without dust jacket. Seversky was born a Russian in 1894 and was an air hero in World War I. A protege of General Billy Mitchell in the War Department in the 1920s, he went on to found the Seversky Aircraft Corporation later Republic Aviation. He designed the P47 Thunderbolt, the world’s then fastest amphibian plane.
