London: Collins, 1951. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Good. 8" by 5". None. The first edition of this novel by Hammond Innes. In the original dustwrapper. This work is set during the Berlin Airlift. It centres around three characters who are ex-R.A.F fliers and are follows their desperate attempts to get their machine on the Airlift in time. This work is set partially at RAF Gatow, RAF Membury after its closure and RAF Wunstorf. Hammond Innes was a British novelist who wrote over 30 novels as well as children's and travel books. In original cloth binding and held in original dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with minor rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Slight age toning to the edges, particularly to the head and tail of spine. Dustwrapper is sound with losses to the head and tail of spine. Minor chipping to the flyleaves. Sunning to wrap and rubbing to the joints and the rear wrap. Spotting to wrap internally. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned with the odd spot throughout. Very Good Indeed
